HK Audio SHL LUNAR 110 XA

HK Lunar 110 XA is an active bi-amplified Full-Range speaker, usable as both a PA system and a wedge monitor. It has a 1200W peak amplifier, a 10'' cone with a 2'' voice coil, and a 1'' tweeter with a 1'' voice coil. Its frequency response is (-10dB) 61Hz – 20kHz, it reaches a peak SPL of 128dB, and has a coverage angle of 90° horizontally and 55° vertically. The user interface provides an XLR/jack combo input with volume control that accepts both line and microphone signals, receives Bluetooth signals for audio streaming, and can be connected to another speaker of the same series thanks to True Wireless Stereo; a Thru output and a Mix Out, both on XLR, complete the I/O features of this speaker.

The research behind HK Audio's new Lunar series
To create the new user interface, HK Audio conducted market research among industry experts, amateur users, and installers to discover the true needs of end-users of their products. The result is that, at first glance, features designed for professional use can confuse novice users: multi-channel mixers, complicated DSPs, or advanced I/O functions, often not even used by the professionals for whom they were designed. The minimalist design of this user interface provides everything we need for immediate use of the speaker in any situation.
The DSP of the HK Lunar Series
The 32-bit DSP with a 48 kHz sampling rate, high-resolution converters, and advanced FIR filters offers excellent sound quality, precise response, and minimizes distortion. Integrated DSP functions such as crossover, equalization presets, time alignment, and limiter ensure reliable performance and excellent dynamics. Plug-and-play operation makes use simple and immediate, guaranteeing professional results without complex adjustments.
Inputs and outputs of HK Audio Lunar 110 XA
•    Mic/Line Input: XLR/jack combo input with switch for selecting input signal type and dedicated gain control. The connector accepts XLR and TRS, and it is possible to connect a microphone directly to the speaker and adjust its volume to the optimal level.
•    Thru Output: a copy of the input signal can be transmitted from this XLR output to another speaker or subwoofer.
•    Mix Out: a sum of the physical input and Bluetooth signals can be sent via XLR to another speaker, a subwoofer, or a recorder.
The 4 equalization presets
•    MUSIC: generic Full-Range preset perfect for stand-alone use, live applications, and suitable for all music genres.
•    Ext. Sub: preset for using the speaker as a dedicated mid/high frequency unit, perfect for use in combination with HK Portable Sub 115 XA and Portable Sub 118 XA subwoofers.
•    MONITOR: preset optimized for horizontal floor use.
•    VOICE: preset designed to improve voice intelligibility and optimize speech.
Bluetooth connections
All speakers in the HK Audio Lunar series are equipped with long-range Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity that ensures a quick and stable connection with smartphones, tablets, and other compatible devices. Thanks to True Wireless Stereo, once the first speaker (master) is connected to a mobile device, we can wirelessly connect a second speaker (slave).
How to connect a Bluetooth device?
To connect a smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth device, press and hold the Pair button for approximately 2 seconds to activate pairing mode. Then select "LUNAR XXXX" from the list of available Bluetooth devices on your mobile device. Once pairing is complete, the Pair LED will remain steadily lit, indicating that the connection is active.
True Wireless Stereo (TWS) connection
The True Wireless Stereo (TWS) function allows you to connect two LUNAR speakers without cables, creating a complete stereo system. First, connect your mobile device to the first speaker (Master) via Bluetooth. Then, activate the TWS function on the Master speaker by pressing the dedicated button for 2 seconds. On the second speaker (Slave), activate Pair mode and then also press TWS on this speaker for two seconds. When the connection is complete, the status LEDs will remain lit, confirming the wireless stereo connection between the two speakers.
Installation options
•    On a stand: thanks to Duo-Tilt, we can mount the speaker on a stand (or spacer inserted in a subwoofer) choosing between an inclination of 3° or 7° towards the audience, to always have optimal coverage in our listening area.
•    Suspension mounting: 4 M8 inserts allow us to safely suspend the speakers using AP8 anchors.
•    Ceiling mounting with U-brackets: two types of U-brackets are available for all Lunar models, one allowing vertical positioning and one horizontal positioning of the speakers, if we need to permanently install them on the ceiling. Please note, U-brackets should absolutely not be used to fix speakers to walls!
