IK MULTIMEDIA IRIG 2 is a preamplifier for iOS and MAC systems that works with its integrated 1/8" TRRS output connector to provide a true plug-and-play experience with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac.
Volume levels vary from instrument to instrument and device to device. And while the original iRig provided great sound, it was limited in that you couldn't customize the input gain level for your particular setup. IK MULTIMEDIA IRIG 2, on the other hand, features an input gain knob that gives you the ability to ensure high-quality sound in every situation.
Similarly, its 1/4” instrument input works with a guitar, bass or any line-level instrument. Just plug it in as you would a stompbox or amplifier.
The new 1/4” output jack of IK MULTIMEDIA IRIG 2 allows it to be used with an amplifier as part of your live rig without the use of an adapter. This opens up a whole world of opportunities when paired with AmpliTube for iOS, IK's powerful guitar and bass multi-effects processor. It provides a vast library of meticulously modeled virtual stompbox effects, amplifiers and other equipment that you can use as part of your physical rig when playing with friends, in a practice session, in the recording studio or live. Or by connecting headphones to the included 1/8” headphone output.
IK MULTIMEDIA IRIG 2 features a switch that allows you to select between a processed signal and a clean "thru" input signal. This means you can also use your mobile device as a tuner, recorder or other tool while preserving the purity of a 100% analog signal path.
IK MULTIMEDIA IRIG 2 comes with a microphone stand mount and a Velcro strip that allow you to easily attach it, along with other convenient tools such as the IKlip range of microphone stands for all smartphone and tablet sizes.
