The IK MULTIMEDIA IRIG ACOUSTIC is an audio interface for acoustic instruments which, together with the AmpliTube Acoustic app, offers a complete professional-sounding mobile system for live performance and recording designed specifically for acoustic guitars on the go.
The IK MULTIMEDIA IRIG ACOUSTIC, when used with AmpliTube Acoustic, is designed to perfectly replicate ideal microphone placement and accurately capture the full frequency range, tonal character, and complex harmonics and nuances of acoustic guitars. It is able to do this thanks to a combination of a uniquely designed microphone enclosure, which combines the latest MEMS (MicroElectrical-Mechanical System) microphone technology with an omnidirectional polar pattern, the placement of the microphone right inside the soundhole where the output is optimal and the sound is very detailed and focused, and the "calibration" process that optimizes the guitar's sound as if it were externally miked with a high-quality studio microphone. These technologies combine to capture the "full picture" of an acoustic guitar, every vibration and sonic interaction, unlike piezo or magnetic pickups that only capture vibrations from the body top or strings. In short, the IK MULTIMEDIA IRIG ACOUSTIC offers a pure and complete representation of an acoustic guitar's tonal characteristics.
