8" Active Studio Monitor
The KALI LP-8 V2 is an 8" active studio monitor from Kali Audio's Lone Pine series with an exceptionally accurate frequency response. Whatever is in the mix, these monitors can reproduce it. Nothing is boosted or suppressed to cover up flaws or try to sound more pleasing.
The 2nd Wave goes even further, using more robust DSP for an even flatter frequency response at the top end.
The bass on the LP series monitors is delivered by larger magnets and larger voice coils than any comparable speaker on the market. This provides a more accurate bass response that extends lower. The protection limiter that prevents harmful voltage from reaching the drivers has been updated for the 2nd Wave, allowing for 3 dB higher output.
The KALI LP-8 V2 features a 1" soft dome tweeter with 40 W of power and an 8" woofer also with 60 W of power.
The KALI LP-8 V2 is equipped with an EQ/limiter with boundary compensation EQ settings to achieve optimal sound depending on where the speakers need to be placed. For the 2nd Wave, the boundary EQs have been updated for using the speakers on a desk with monitor stands. Combined with LF and HF trims, this ensures that the speakers sound their best regardless of the room they are in or where they are placed.
The KALI LP-8 V2 has balanced XLR and TRS inputs and an unbalanced RCA input. The RCA input can be set to a sensitivity of -10 dBu when using consumer devices such as a laptop or a smartphone's headphone jack.
The waveguide on the Lone Pine series studio monitors ensures that the speaker's directivity is uniform throughout its frequency response. It is also calibrated so that the speaker's sound power helps to perceive sound accurately. In practical terms, this means that you can hear spatial details in the recording that allow your brain to place elements in the surrounding space. This gives the speakers a more natural and realistic feel that exposes more details of the material you are working on.
The front port of the KALI LP-8 V2 has been designed to ensure that all air exits at the same speed. This helps to increase the speaker's low-end response, keeping the bass clean, clear, and free of extra noise.
