KROSS 2-61 MB Carefully Selected Presets
The sound quality of KORG synthesizers is appreciated by musicians worldwide. KROSS 2-61 MB is no exception and has undergone significant technological evolution: polyphony is now 120 voices, with 1,075 Programs featuring a vast assortment of timbres: Multi-Layer acoustic and electric pianos, strings, pads, synths, etc. Each category has been excellently crafted for wide usability in every genre and musical situation, including contemporary productions like EDM, both live and in the studio.
KROSS 2-61 MB User Sample Memory
KROSS 2-61 MB has a 128 MB non-volatile memory area for PCM Samples, allowing the loading of additional sound libraries to expand the instrument's timbral capabilities.
EDS-i Sound Generation
KROSS 2-61 MB uses the sophisticated EDS-i Enhanced Definition Synthesis sound generation system directly inherited from KORG's professional synthesizers. Up to 7 effects can be used simultaneously: 5 Insert, 2 Master, selectable from a large and versatile database with 134 different effect types including: reverbs, delays, Amp Modeling, Vintage units, and even Vocoder.
Sampling with KROSS 2-61 MB's 16 Sampler Pads
KROSS 2-61 MB can sample and play back samples via the 16 pads on the panel. You can record from the LINE IN jack and assign a stereo sample to each pad with a maximum duration of 14 seconds; up to 4 pads can be triggered simultaneously. A wide range of waveform editing functions are available for samples, such as: Start/End, Loop Point, Normalize, and even Resampling, to resample directly within KROSS 2, without the need for any external device; it is also possible to assign audio files of considerable length stored on an SD Card (Optional) to the pads.
Immediate Access Parameters
On KROSS 2-61 MB, navigation is easy thanks to the optimized control panel that speeds up access to sounds and functions. The real-time control section acts directly on KROSS 2's main parameters without having to go through many menus; these knobs control sounds, effects, program editing in real-time, modify vocoder settings, or adjust the arpeggiator and sequencer tempo.
KROSS 2-61 MB Favorites
This function stores frequently used sound resources (Program & Combi) for immediate recall. We have 128 FAVORITE locations, a fundamentally important function, especially live, for quickly accessing the sounds needed for our performances.
Quick Layer/Split
This dedicated panel button immediately overlays two Programs (Layer) or splits the keyboard (Split) into two left and right zones with two distinct timbres, with a single, quick and easy operation!
Category Dial
Immediately recalls sounds from the extensive available database; simply choose the main family such as: piano, organ, etc., and then quickly and intuitively recall the timbre within it.
KROSS 2-61 MB also runs on batteries
KROSS 2-61 MB is lightweight, portable with a compact design and very low weight, its optimized energy efficiency allows up to 7 hours of operation with 6 AA batteries. The KROSS 2 88 MB 88-key model also has an accessory compartment that can hold spare batteries or cables, as well as an easily accessible battery panel on the front. On both models, the KORG logo on the rear panel is illuminated, an additional element to stand out on stage.
The KROSS 2-61 MB Audio Player/Recorder
The internal stereo audio recorder allows you to record performances on KROSS 2-61 MB, also overlaying an external sound source such as a voice. It is also possible to manage audio playback from the 16 Pads, assigning sounds or imported audio files to them. Unlike sampling, the Audio Recorder allows longer recording times, and playback limited only by the capacity of the SD Card being used. By pressing the Pads during a keyboard performance, it is thus possible to activate sound effects or backing tracks to support your performance.
KROSS 2-61 MB brings musical ideas to life
The 16-track MIDI Sequencer can record keyboard performance, Controller movements, and even Pad Sampler performances, a simple and immediate support for realizing your musical ideas.
Step Sequencer - Allows you to quickly and intuitively create rhythmic patterns, up to 64 steps with the 16 Pads.
Drum Track - Adds percussive rhythmic support to your performances, by simply pressing a button. You can choose from over 700 different Drum Patterns capable of covering a wide variety of musical styles and genres.
Arpeggiator - This function is a great source of musical support and inspiration; simply press the keys to generate arpeggios, rhythmic phrases, bass riffs, or guitar accompaniments.
The KROSS 2-61 MB Vocoder
KROSS 2 has a 1/4" MIC IN jack to directly connect a microphone, without the need for external equipment. In addition to the microphone, an audio player or sound generator can be connected via a dedicated stereo mini-jack LINE INPUT. It is also possible to process the voice with a Vocoder, obtaining its characteristic timbre and controlling it in real-time from the dedicated section on the panel.
KROSS 2-61 MB USB Audio Interface Functions
The USB port of KROSS 2-61 MB, in addition to transmitting and receiving MIDI data, can also operate as an audio interface, so it is possible to connect the workstation to the computer (Mac or Windows) and record to DAW, or play the instrument in combination with iPad or iPhone. For this purpose, high-quality Apps created by KORG can be used as additional sound generators, or it is possible to perform using musical tracks created with the KORG Gadget DAW application as backing, all using a single USB cable.
A dedicated Editor and Plug-in Editor are also available for KROSS 2. These software allow editing all synthesis parameters of the instrument on a computer, with their simultaneous display on a monitor. Or they allow complete management of the instrument within the used DAW, as if it were a software synthesizer.
* To connect to a PC, use a USB cable (sold separately).
* To connect to iPad / iPhone, use the Apple Lightning - USB adapter (sold separately)
