Analog Synthesizer with Two Oscillators
The KORG MONOTRON DUO is an analog synthesizer with two oscillators that adds an extra punch to the classic monotron sound, creating powerful and complex tones. The Cross Modulation "X-MOD" circuit, derived from the classic Korg Mono/Poly synth, allows you to create even more distinctive sounds, from vibrato to extremely metallic tones reminiscent of FM synthesis. The ribbon keyboard of the KORG MONOTRON DUO, derived from the KAOSSILATOR, offers an additional function compared to other models: you can use a button to select one of 4 available scales: Chromatic, Major, Minor, or Wide. The sound of an analog filter (VCF) can enrich and radically modify a timbre. The monotron DUO employs the same VCF circuit as the historic KORG MS-10 and MS-20 semi-modular synths produced 30 years ago. The VCF Cutoff knob allows you to select the cutoff point of the low-pass filter, while the Peak knob controls resonance. The "Aux In" mini-jack input allows you to connect any external audio source, such as a Kaossilator, a guitar, or a CD and/or mp3 player, to process it using the resonant low-pass filter available in the monotron family products. 2 analog oscillators (VCO) with independent tuning. Korg Mono/Poly style X-MOD circuit. Ribbon keyboard with selectable scale. Original Analog Filter (VCF) derived from MS-10 and MS-20. Aux input for connecting/processing external sources.
