Like all nanoSERIES2 controllers, the nanoPAD2 is compact, lightweight, and perfectly sized to fit in front of your laptop. The nanoPAD2 features 16 velocity-sensitive pads that can be used across 4 different banks, for a total of 64 pads, and an X-Y touch pad. In addition, with the new "Touch Scale" function derived from the Kaossilator PRO, you can intuitively play musical phrases directly from the touchpad. The "Gate Arp" function - also derived from the Kaossilator Pro - will transmit arpeggiated MIDI notes in sequence and synchronized to the tempo settings (Tap Tempo and Temp Sync). By combining the Touch Scale and Gate Arp functions, you can play melodic and rhythmic phrases synchronized to the desired speed by simply sliding your finger across the touchpad and/or pressing the pads.
The nanoPAD2 is fully programmable with the Korg Kontrol Editor software, which can be downloaded free of charge from the Korg website and installed on your PC or Mac computer. You can choose between 4 different velocity response curves (3 + one fixed), assign specific MIDI notes to the various Pads, program scales for the Touch Scale function, assign MIDI Control Change messages, and save all settings in a scene.
