KORG is pleased to present POETRY, a digital piano dedicated to Frédéric Chopin, the great Polish musician.

This instrument features a special multi-sample recorded specifically from the historic 1843 PLEYEL piano, the maestro's favorite instrument, plus the sound of the renowned Italian concert grand piano used for the prestigious Chopin piano competition. POETRY also has an internal library with a selection of 50 of Chopin's most famous and performed pieces.

KORG Poetry is a digital piano dedicated to the legendary Frédéric Chopin, a historic musician, celebrated classical composer, and internationally beloved pianist. This instrument offers an almost unique way to approach the Maestro's music innovatively. Poetry features two distinct piano timbres: the 1843 PLEYEL, created during Chopin's 33rd year, and the renowned Italian concert grand piano, favored by many contemporary pianists and primarily used in the prestigious International Chopin Competition and on other famous international stages. The sound of the PLEYEL 3 piano was sampled directly from an original instrument, one of the few remaining, spanning 80 keys and a tuning fork (Diapason) of 430 Hz, producing a particular sound that evocatively recalls the sonic world that echoed under the Maestro's fingers. Poetry adopts the renowned RH3 Real Weighted Hammer Action 3 keyboard, successfully used in many other keyboards and digital pianos in the KORG catalog. RH3 accurately emulates the tactile sensation of a grand piano.

Elegant Design

Poetry features an elegant "Poetic Brown" wooden exterior cabinet, inspired by the delicate romantic atmospheres evoked by Chopin's music, with gold finishes on the pedals and leg tips that create a pleasing retro look. The instrument's dimensions are very compact, with a depth of only 26 cm (excluding the anti-tip bracket), and the keyboard cover serves as a music rest when open.

Poetry's RH3 Keyboard

Poetry adopts the renowned RH3 Real Weighted Hammer Action 3 keyboard, successfully used in many other keyboards and digital pianos in the KORG catalog. RH3 accurately emulates the tactile sensation of a grand piano, including the variation in touch due to the different hammer weights in the lower and upper regions of the keyboard; this offers the musician a feeling of great solidity, leading to greater timbral and expressive control, with the ability to customize its dynamics with 5 different response curves: Light, Standard, Heavy, Steady & Constant. RH3 is also manufactured with particular attention to environmental protection, with the use of lead or other heavy metals in the hammers being banned from this component.

This allows for the introduction of additional details and expressive nuances in every performance, enhancing the richness of musical articulation. The Poetry Song Library features a selection of 50 Chopin masterpieces, meticulously performed on the piano itself. It's easy and quick to compare the tonal differences between the Italian piano and the PLEYEL. These pieces can be used for study, to deepen one's knowledge using the included scores, or simply for listening and enjoying the beauty of the music produced.

The Recorder

Poetry features a two-part internal Recorder that allows you to record and listen back to your performances, a useful educational function for evaluating your progress in piano study, or a creative one, for instantly capturing an idea or musical inspiration. It's also possible to record the right or left hand parts separately, even at a slower tempo, or use the recorded piece as musical backing to play along with.

Exclusive Functions

Poetry features a practical internal metronome that can be activated and deactivated with the touch of a button, ideal for lessons, daily practice, or improving timing. Additionally, simultaneously pressing two sound selection buttons activates Layer mode, which allows two timbres to be layered for even richer performances. The important Partner educational mode is also available, which allows the keyboard to be divided into two equal parts with the same range, important for in-person lessons with a teacher, or for performing pieces for two pianos.
