The D-Drive 1.2k4h-AE is the new compact 1/2-rack amplifier from LEM Commercial, designed to offer high performance, advanced management, and maximum reliability in modern fixed installations. It is part of a new generation of power amplifiers with integrated DSP, all sharing a web-based control platform that allows for configuration and monitoring from any browser, without the need for dedicated software.
The heart of the D-Drive 1.2k4h-AE is a high-performance DSP based on the ADI Sharc platform, capable of managing a full 4 × 4 matrix and a set of extremely advanced processing functions. The processing includes high-resolution FIR filters, parametric and dynamic equalizations, compressors, expanders, and per-channel delay, with the possibility of using presets dedicated to both the device and the loudspeakers.
The power section utilizes proprietary Class-D technology with independent converters, designed to provide low background noise, linear frequency response, and a rated power of 4 × 150 W into low-impedance loads. The compact 1/2-rack format allows for easy integration in installations where space is limited, while maintaining the same philosophy of efficiency and reliability as the higher-tier model.
Control is managed via Webcon, an integrated web interface that offers simultaneous multi-user access, compatibility with any browser on PCs, tablets, and smartphones, and a unified workflow for managing multiple devices. The platform allows for real-time monitoring, level management, muting, device identification, configuration of GPIOs, IP wall panels, and the use of open APIs for integration with third-party systems.
In terms of connectivity, the D-Drive 1.2k4h-AE features analog inputs as well as AES/EBU and AES67 digital inputs, ensuring high flexibility for integration into networked audio systems. The outputs are available on Euroblock and/or speakON connectors, while the front panel hosts a modern interface optimized for the 1/2-rack format, designed for compact installations and multi-zone systems. A dedicated blank panel allows the amplifier to be mounted in a standard 19” rack space, or two D-Drive 1.2k4h-AE units can be mounted in the same width using the two side ears and a top metal fixing plate.
The cooling system uses a configurable, thermally controlled fan, which ensures consistent performance even under heavy conditions. The wide-range power supply ensures full compatibility with international electrical grids, while system protection is handled by a complete set of intelligent functions: automatic HF signal inhibition, protection against overvoltage, short circuits, overtemperature, and other critical conditions.
From a construction standpoint, the D-Drive 1.2k4h-AE uses audiophile-grade components, including high-quality operational amplifiers, resistors, capacitors, and selected driver chips, to ensure a clean and natural audio output.
