D-Drive 1.8k4-Dante is the new compact 19” 1U rack-mount amplifier from LEM Commercial, designed to offer high performance, advanced management, and maximum reliability for modern fixed installations. It is the first model in a new generation of power amplifiers with integrated DSP, all sharing a web-based control platform that allows for configuration and monitoring from any browser, without the need for dedicated software.
The heart of the D-Drive 1.8k4-Dante is a high-performance DSP based on the 1 GHz ADI Sharc 21569 platform, capable of handling a full 4 x 4 matrix and an extremely advanced set of processing functions. The processing includes 96 kHz FIR filters, parametric and dynamic equalizers, compressors, expanders, and delays of up to 2000 ms per channel, with the ability to use dedicated presets for both the device and the loudspeakers.
The power section utilizes proprietary Class-D technology with independent converters, designed to offer low noise floor, linear frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and power output of 4 x 300 W at 8 ohms, 4 x 450 W at 4 ohms, or 2 x 900 W in bridge mode. The D-Drive 1.8k4-Dante supports both low-impedance operation (4 / 8 ohms) and 70/100 V constant voltage output in bridged mode. In the latter case, the user can set the total load value with a precision of 0.1 ohm within the 8 – 125 ohm range, while the amplifier automatically adjusts the power output to ensure operational safety and full compatibility with conferencing, commercial sound, and PA systems.
Control is handled via Webcon, an integrated web interface that offers simultaneous multi-user access, compatibility with any browser on PCs, tablets, and smartphones, and a unified workflow for managing multiple devices. The platform allows for real-time monitoring, level management, muting, device identification, configuration of GPIOs and IP wall panels, and the use of open APIs for integration with third-party systems.
In terms of connectivity, the D-Drive 1.8k4-Dante features analog, AES/EBU, and Dante inputs, ensuring high integration flexibility within networked audio systems. Outputs are available via Euroblock and speakON NL4 connectors, while the front panel houses a touch display with a modern design, optimized for 1U rack integration.
The cooling system uses a configurable, thermally controlled fan, which ensures consistent performance even under heavy conditions. The 90 – 264 VAC universal voltage power supply guarantees full compatibility with any power grid. System protection is managed by a comprehensive set of intelligent functions: automatic HF signal inhibition, and protection against overvoltage, short circuits, overtemperature, and other critical conditions.
From a construction standpoint, it uses audiophile-grade components, including high-quality operational amplifiers, resistors, and capacitors, as well as a German-made driver chip, to ensure clean and natural audio reproduction.
D-Drive 1.8k4-Dante therefore represents a new generation of amplifier—powerful, compact, and designed to integrate naturally into modern professional audio ecosystems.
