LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER is an analog dynamic processor that, depending on the settings, can function as a compressor, limiter, or a harmonic distortion generator. It was designed to create an original, vivid analog sound for instruments, subgroups, and the entire mix. LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER features an intuitive and easy-to-use control panel. LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER is a creative device that gives the sound a powerful analog character. LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER uniquely enhances perceived loudness, warms, and brightens the audio signal, depending on the DRIVE settings. The heart of LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER is an FET transistor responsible for sound reduction and the introduction of a small amount of low-order harmonics, and its design is inspired by 1960s transistor limiters and compressors. In addition, LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER includes many original solutions derived from Looptrotter's long-term experience in building dynamic processors, which guarantees a unique sound. LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER is equipped with two independently operating filters integrated into the control circuit. This gives the possibility of shaping the timbre without unpleasant phase shifts: when cutting low frequencies in the control signal, LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER acts more transparently and naturally with signals rich in low frequencies such as kick drum or bass. This can reduce low-frequency distortion and pumping effect; while boosting high frequencies in the control signal, LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER acts like an analog de-esser or a very fast compressor for bright and dynamic instruments.
LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER offers three factory attack/release presets:
- FAST - the processor's fastest attack and release settings make the EMPEROR work as a limiter. This preset offers rich and dense input signal saturation;
- MED: this preset makes the EMPEROR work as a fast compressor;
- SLOW: this preset makes EMPEROR more like an analog compressor than a limiter.
LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER also has independent control over the DRY and WET signal. This allows you to decide whether the audio tracks only need slight colorization, preserving the original dynamics, or if the signal needs to be run through LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER at 100%. The signal path of LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER is 100% analog, but all signal switches and potentiometers are digital. The LINK option allows control of both channels only through the left channel. The 1% potentiometers used ensure precise matching of both channels. LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER is a precise and reliable analog device.
