2-Channel Saturator
The LOOPTROTTER SA2RATE 2 is a 2-channel saturator and soft limiter featuring Looptrotter's world-renowned solid-state saturation circuit. It was created to add low-order harmonics and smooth out the signal musically, significantly increasing the RMS level without simultaneously increasing peaks.
In addition to the standard DRIVE control, the LOOPTROTTER SA2RATE 2 includes some substantial modifications compared to the previous generation model, such as: 2 TRS instrument inputs (-10 dB), THD LO Safe/HI Smooth filters, and DRY/WET signal controls.
DRIVE controls the input level of the processed signal and the depth of saturation.
PROCESS (True Bypass) allows switching between dry and wet signals. The amount of added harmonics is indicated by two LEDs that light up at 4% and 8% THD.
LO safe engages the pre-emphasis and de-emphasis circuit, preventing distortion of lower frequencies. This option is particularly useful when processing instruments with rich low-frequency content such as kick, bass, drum groups, or the entire mix.
HI smooth boosts high frequencies before the saturation circuit and attenuates them after. This allows for deeper saturation of higher frequencies with harmonics and smooths the signal with very subtle compression.
Independent DRY and WET signal controls allow for a perfect blend between the processed and original signals in the chain. The module can be very subtle, adding a slight coloration, or aggressive when 100% saturation is activated.
