2-Channel Saturator
LOOPTROTTER SA2RATE 2 is a 2-channel saturator and soft limiter featuring Looptrotter's world-renowned solid-state saturation circuit. It was created to add low-order harmonics and shape the signal musically, significantly increasing the RMS level without increasing peaks at the same time.
Beyond standard DRIVE control, LOOPTROTTER SA2RATE 2 features substantial modifications compared to the previous generation model, including: 2 instrument input TRS (-10 dB), LO Safe/HI Smooth THD filters and DRY/WET signal controls.
DRIVE controls the input level of the processed signal and the depth of saturation.
PROCESS (True Bypass) allows you to alternate between dry and wet signal. The amount of added harmonics is indicated by two LEDs that light up at 4% and 8% THD.
LO safe engages the pre-emphasis and de-emphasis circuit, preventing distortion of the lowest frequencies. This option is particularly useful when processing instruments with rich low-frequency content such as kick, bass, drum group or the entire mix.
HI smooth increases the high frequencies before the saturation circuit and attenuates them after. This allows for deeper saturation of higher frequencies with harmonics and shapes the signal with very subtle compression.
Independent DRY and WET signal controls allow you to achieve a perfect blend between processed and original signal in the chain. The module can be very subtle, adding light coloration or aggressive when 100% saturation is engaged.
