The M-AUDIO OXYGEN 49 MKV is a 49-key USB MIDI keyboard that includes powerful features essential for creating and producing music, such as Note Repeat (a fundamental feature in beat production), Full Velocity Control for keys and 8 pads, 8 assignable knobs for controlling effects plugins and virtual instruments, and an assignable fader for mixing.
Note Repeat allows you to hold down any of the 8 performance pads (custom M-Audio velocity-sensitive in 2 available pad banks) to hear a repeated rhythmic pattern with a selectable note division. The Note Repeat function can be triggered momentarily or used in Latch mode. By choosing Momentary, holding down the Note Repeat button will automatically repeat the note played by the pad. By choosing Latch, pressing any pad will cause the assigned note to repeat without having to hold down the Note Repeat button.
The M-AUDIO OXYGEN 49 MKV's built-in arpeggiator with Type, Octave, Gate, and Swing controls repeatedly plays the pressed keys in the selected sequence. The arpeggiator's tempo and rhythm are based on the keyboard's or DAW's time division setting.
The M-AUDIO OXYGEN 49 MKV features M-Audio's brand-new Smart Chord and Smart Scale technology. With Smart Chord activated, pressing a single key or pad will play a full chord instead of just one note. The key or pad pressed will determine the root note in the chord. The other chord properties (major, minor, etc.) are determined by the chosen settings. Smart Chord also has a Custom mode that allows you to determine the chord structure that will be assigned to each key by playing it manually. For example, if you select Custom mode and play a 1-b3-5-b7 chord, each key will be assigned to play this chord structure. The note of the pressed key will act as the root of the chord, and all parameters can be edited directly on the M-AUDIO OXYGEN 25 MKV. Smart Scale technology allows you to set up the keyboard so that only notes in the selected scale can be played. This allows you to play within a chosen scale without the risk of playing "wrong" notes. You can choose from 16 different scale variations when assigning a scale to the keyboard.
Controls such as Transport, Fader, Pan, Record Arm, Solo, Mute, Select, and many others, are automatically mapped to most DAWs for a smooth workflow. The M-AUDIO OXYGEN 49 MKV works with all major DAWs, including Ableton, Pro Tools, MPC Beats, Cubase, Logic, Studio One, and many others. The M-AUDIO OXYGEN 49 MKV also includes presets for all included virtual instruments and plugins (Mini Grand and Hybrid 3).
