FEATURES
STELLA 8 is an 8-port controller with RDM support, designed to provide comprehensive, high-performance DMX control. It is a versatile and reliable device, conceived to meet the needs of professional lighting installations through a combination of advanced functionality and practical solutions for integration into various contexts.
On the front panel, there is a USB port that also serves to power the device, along with status LEDs for quick verification of general operation and dedicated indicators for each port to monitor output status. The eight physical DMX ports are fully configurable: each can be managed as an input, output, or as a merge of two signals, offering maximum flexibility in the distribution of DMX universes. Rounding out the equipment, a USB-C port on the bottom of the device facilitates connection when STELLA 8 is DIN-rail mounted, while a reset button allows for an immediate restart.
The system supports Art-Net and Streaming ACN (sACN) in both unicast and multicast modes, with the possibility of bidirectional conversion between DMX and network protocols. Thanks to real-time merging, up to eight sources can be combined without latency, with HTP/LTP modes that can be configured automatically or manually. Each network port operates at 1 Gbit/s. The device can also be powered via PoE. The dual power supply ensures redundancy and operational continuity, while integrated backup strategies provide security in the most complex installations.
Among the innovations is the integrated web interface, which simplifies configuration via standard browsers and allows for the management of network settings, channel mapping, patterns, and snapshots. The source priority system allows for establishing hierarchies between Art-Net, sACN, and other operating modes, while the DMX Watcher enables real-time monitoring of DMX parameters passing through the device. STELLA 8 can also operate as a protocol converter, ensuring RTM compatibility and expanding integration possibilities. Surge protection, firmware updates, and a dual bootloader complete a profile of reliability and safety.
Integration with MADRIX RADAR represents a further strength: all RDM devices connected to STELLA 8 are automatically unlocked in the software, making ANSI E1.20 and E1.37-1 specifications available via Art-Net. Thanks to Packet Multitasking, RDM and Art-Net can be sent and received simultaneously, ensuring smooth operation even in real time.
In summary, MADRIX STELLA 8 combines the functions of a controller, booster, merger, and splitter in a single device, handling high bandwidths in professional lighting networks with ease. Its design, focused on quality and performance, makes it an ideal tool for installers and service providers, with applications ranging from multimedia classrooms to theme parks, from clubs to theaters, as well as multipurpose halls and architectural installations. The MADRIX philosophy invites users to look beyond the limited vision of a system dedicated solely to lighting scenes: STELLA 8 is designed to be an integral part of much more complex and high-performing projects.
