MODAL ELECTRONICS ARGON8 (37 KEYS)
Estimated delivery in Italy between 9 and 13 July
Building on the heritage of our legendary OO series synthesizers, ARGON8 is a modern wavetable synthesizer for artists, producers, and sound designers. With its rich, transparent sound, a range of real-time controls, MPE support, a clearly structured user interface, and integrated performance tools, the ARGON8 is a unique instrument, designed to deliver an unparalleled listening experience.
ARGON8’s sophisticated wavetable synthesizer engine generates thousands of different sonic combinations with its seamless waveform morphing function. Explore evolving ambient textures, classic pads and modern chords, brutal basses, dark drones, and psychedelic noise textures – ARGON8 is a true sound designer’s playground. Process and modulate the waves using the 32 static wavetable modifiers and unlock additional wavetable variations. With ARGON8 virtually any sonic imagination comes to life.
Four editable filter types offer classic and contemporary options for shaping sounds. Two flexible audio-rate LFOs (1x polyphonic) can be routed to a huge number of destinations using the modulation matrix and synced to internal or external tempo. Three dedicated envelopes for filter, amp, and modulation provide extensive control over dynamics and expression. ARGON8’s sophisticated 12-slot modulation matrix allows you to easily assign complex modulation routings to keep your sound evolving.
Take your performance to a new level with the integrated 512-note polyphonic (or real-time) sequencer with 4 powerful animation lanes, which infuse massive and complex transitions into sound in a way LFOs and envelopes simply don’t. The 64-note step sequencer’s polyphonic mode allows for easy input of note values and animation to create exciting melodic patterns.
The sequencer’s multiple trigger modes, along with the powerful integrated arpeggiator (programmable up to 32 steps) and performance functions such as Chord Hold, Inversions, Transpose, Sustain Latch, and Joystick make the ARGON8 wavetable synthesizer a dream to play for artists and musicians.
ARGON8’s professional approach to the serious performer finds its perfect expression in the robust steel and aluminum chassis and the full-size 37-note FATAR TP/9S keybed. The keys support channel aftertouch and offer a smooth action for expressive, powerful performances. For direct parameter access, the ARGON8 features 29 endless knobs, 24 buttons, and an X/Y joystick for pitch and modulation.
Completely reshape your sounds with the integrated stereo effects engine. ARGON8’s 3-slot effects engine allows for in-depth programming and can combine up to 12 effects algorithms to add character and depth to your sound, including Distortion (waveshaping overdrive) Chorus, Phaser, Flanger (Pos), Flanger (Neg), Tremolo, LoFi, Rotary, Stereo Delay, Ping-Pong Delay, X-Over Delay, and Reverb.
With a wide range of connections, ARGON8 is at home in any setup. Control the synthesizer via USB, monitor with headphones or using the dedicated line outputs, synchronize with external gear using full-size MIDI ins and outs or the 3.5mm sync ins or outs, and take control of your sound using the integrated sustain and expression inputs. You can expand the sound of the ARGON8 by daisy-chaining any two ARGON8 units for 16 voices and 64 oscillators.
The free MODALapp brings the convenience of onscreen editing to your computer or mobile device. Available as a standalone app for macOS, Windows, iOS, iPadOS or Android systems and in VST3 and AU plugin formats, it's the perfect companion for synth enthusiasts who want to delve into all sound-shaping and performance parameters to create their signature sounds and to back up and manage patches and sequences.
