News of a new Moog synthesizer is already significant in itself, but if you add to this that for the first time the well-known American brand has decided to fully embrace the Euro Rack format project, suggesting future development of modules for this standard, it is clear that the interest in this novelty is far greater. Moog's entry into the Euro Rack format is a grand entrance with a semi-modular table-top synthesizer with an on-board sequencer and a wide range of external connection options thanks to an interconnection patchbay with Euro Rack format mini-jacks. The Mother-32, this is the name of the new synthesizer from the Asheville company, integrates a 32-step CV/Gate step sequencer with 64 sequence locations, Moog low pass and high pass filter, an oscillator with independent output for waveforms, a sub audio/audio modulation oscillator, two voltage-controlled mixers, MIDI In and MIDI to CV conversion, a patchbay with 32 connection points and CV jacks with 16 possible assignment sources, all in an aluminum cabinet with wooden side panels. This is the first (but certainly not the last) module available from Moog in the standard Euro Rack format and will be accompanied by a wide range of accessories such as kits for rack mounting the module and patch cables.
