DUOPHONIC 25-KEY ANALOGUE SYNTHESIZER
Moog's new Subsequent 25 analogue synth is the successor to the Asheville-based company's award-winning Sub Phatty. In addition to various hardware updates, such as a more powerful headphone amplifier and a re-tuned Multidrive circuit, it now also features a DUO (duophonic) mode like that of the Sub 37 and has been modified to extend the timbre with much grittier sounds compared to the Sub Phatty. Unlike the Sub Phatty, the new Subsequent 25 features wooden side panels, just like its bigger brother Subsequent 37, and offers the same preset recall capability via a plugin editor available for free for both Mac and Windows. The gain stage of the historic Ladder filter has been remodelled to increase harmonic saturation and analogue compression. The on-board presets have been designed and optimised to take full advantage of the Subsequent 25's circuits. The keyboard has been updated to improve playability. With all these new features, the Subsequent 25 is one of the most suitable machines for musicians, producers and sound designers who don't need many octaves but rather great freedom in creating new sounds.
