MIDI Interface
The MOTU MICRO EXPRESS is a MIDI interface, a mini version of the MIDI Express XT. It shares many of the same features as the Express XT, except it's smaller, bus-powered, and even more affordable.
The MOTU MICRO EXPRESS provides 4 MIDI inputs, 6 MIDI outputs, 96 MIDI channels, and compatibility with all Mac and Windows software. Sixteen presets (8 factory and 8 user-programmable) with instant front panel access allow for multiple operational configurations. The Clockworks software console is included for Mac OS X and Windows 7/Vista and offers comprehensive MIDI routing, merging, and muting.
As a professional-grade SMPTE time code synchronizer, the MOTU MICRO EXPRESS converts and stripes timecode in all frame formats (23.976*, 24, 25, 29.97 drop and non-drop, and 30). The "jam sync" SMPTE with adjustable freewheeling provides seamless synchronization.
The MOTU MICRO EXPRESS also supports MIDI Machine Control (MMC), with the ability to act as an MMC master or slave and can distribute MMC transport commands to all other connected MMC devices.
