OVERVIEW OF THE MXR M116 FULLBORE METAL DISTORTION
The MXR Fullbore Metal Distortion delivers high-gain distortion perfect for powerful riffs. This compact pedal features very high gain and, internally, has a Noise Gate that can be activated with the dedicated switch to eliminate noise resulting from extreme gain. It has a three-band EQ section, with Low, Mid, and High controls. In addition to the Volume and Gain controls, there is a Freq control to manage the frequency range regulated by the Mid knob, and a Scoop switch that boosts highs and lows.

Volume: adjusts the overall volume of the effect;
Freq: selects the mid-frequency range regulated by the Mid control (from 200 Hz to 5 kHz);
Gain: adjusts the amount of distortion;
Gate: activates the internal noise gate;
Scoop: boosts highs and lows (the EQ remains functional);
Low: adjusts low frequencies;
Mid: adjusts mid frequencies;
High: adjusts high frequencies;
INTERNAL CONTROL FOR THE NOISE GATE
With a small flat-head screwdriver, turn clockwise to increase the Noise Gate sensitivity, so the gate will cut noise more quickly. Turn the screwdriver counter-clockwise if notes are being cut off too soon.
