MXR M249 SUGAR DRIVE OVERVIEW
The Sugar Drive is a small and easy-to-use overdrive pedal, yet it delivers a clear and transparent overdrive. Based on a rare circuit, it features a component called a voltage doubler that clarifies the sound by increasing overall headroom. The interface has three controls: the VOLUME knob adjusts the overall volume; the Tone control manages high frequencies, reducing them for a softer sound or increasing them for more punch; the Drive control adds overdrive to the clean signal as it is increased, creating an effect similar to tubes saturating with increasing power. The result is a pedal that can be used as a clean boost or a tube-like overdrive. The switch on the side of the pedal allows you to switch between True Bypass and Buffered Bypass circuits. Its compact size allows this pedal to fit into any pedalboard. It can be powered by a 9-volt adapter or one of MXR's power supplies (not included).
