OVERVIEW OF THE MXR M85 BASS DISTORTION
The MXR M85 Bass Distortion delivers a full, aggressive distortion while keeping the low frequencies intact. In collaboration with Fuzzrocious Pedals founder Ryan Ratajski, MXR has re-engineered a notoriously aggressive distortion circuit for the modern bassist. This pedal offers Wet and Dry controls to allow separate management of clean and distorted signal levels. The Tone control, which only affects the distorted signal, is a simple high-cut filter that reduces high frequencies, while the Distortion control sets the intensity of the distortion. Finally, the violent sound of the MXR M85 Bass Distortion is available in two versions, selectable via the dedicated LED/SIL switch. The default SIL setting uses silicon clipping diodes for an aggressive, gritty sound with a bit of compression, while the LED setting offers a more open sound with a nice gain boost.
