Il Neumann MA 1 (Automatic Monitor Alignment) è il sistema di calibrazione acustica e correzione ambientale sviluppato da Neumann in collaborazione con Fraunhofer IIS. Combina un microfono di misura calibrato individualmente, un software dedicato e algoritmi avanzati che sfruttano il DSP dei monitor per ottimizzare risposta in frequenza, allineamento temporale e bilanciamento dei livelli nella stanza d'ascolto.
Il software guida l'utente passo dopo passo attraverso le misurazioni e calcola una curva target adattata all'ambiente, compensando i modi della stanza. Il risultato è maggiore chiarezza, coerenza tra i diffusori, basso asciutto e una restituzione più fedele dei riverberi. Le correzioni vengono memorizzate direttamente nel DSP dei monitor: dopo l'allineamento non servono plug-in, driver o un computer collegato.
MA 1 supporta i diffusori di rete Neumann, tra cui KH 80 DSP, KH 120 II, KH 150, KH 750 DSP, KH 805 II, KH 810 II e KH 870 II, incluse le versioni AES67. I monitor analogici KH 120, KH 310 e KH 420 possono essere allineati se collegati a un subwoofer con funzionalità di rete, beneficiando anche della linearizzazione di fase. Le configurazioni multicanale e immersive sono disponibili tramite licenza di estensione a pagamento.
Il microfono di misura è un trasduttore a pressione omnidirezionale di Classe I, con risposta 20 Hz – 20 kHz, sensibilità di 30 mV/Pa, SPL massimo di 132 dB e alimentazione phantom 48 V su connettore XLR. Il software, scaricabile gratuitamente, funziona su Windows 10/11 a 64 bit e macOS e richiede un'interfaccia audio con ingresso microfonico phantom e uno switch di rete compatibile IPv6.
