La Neumann MC 3, denominata Strings Clip Double Bass, è il supporto del Miniature Clip Mic System progettato per fissare capsula e collo d'oca direttamente sulle corde del contrabbasso, nella zona sotto il ponticello. È la clip inclusa nel MCM 114 Set Bass ed è disponibile separatamente per completare o ampliare il proprio sistema MCM.
Il montaggio sulle corde consente di posizionare la capsula molto vicino alla sorgente sonora senza praticare fori, senza nastri adesivi e senza interventi sulla cassa armonica. La clip accetta corde con diametro compreso tra 1 e 2,6 mm, coprendo la gran parte delle corde utilizzate sui contrabbassi, e con un peso di soli 20 grammi non incide in modo apprezzabile sulla vibrazione e sulla risonanza dello strumento.
Il supporto del collo d'oca integrato ruota e si blocca a scatti di 45°: in questo modo il fonico o il musicista può orientare la capsula con precisione verso le f della tavola armonica o verso il punto che restituisce il miglior equilibrio tra attacco e corpo, ritrovando facilmente la stessa posizione a ogni montaggio.
La MC 3 si abbina ai colli d'oca SH 100, SH 150 e SH 250 e alle capsule della famiglia MCM, mantenendo tutti i vantaggi della modularità del sistema: si può passare da un contrabbasso all'altro, o sostituire la clip con un modello diverso, senza cambiare capsula, cavo o stadio di uscita.
