Il Neumann MCM 114 Set Woodwinds è la versione del Miniature Clip Mic System dedicata agli strumenti a fiato in legno. Flauti, clarinetti, oboi, fagotti e flauti dolci hanno una sorgente sonora distribuita lungo il corpo dello strumento e sono sensibili a ogni elemento aggiunto: questo set nasce per riprenderli da vicino con un sistema leggero e poco invasivo.
La capsula utilizzata è la KK 14 a condensatore electret con diagramma cardioide, assemblata a mano in Germania. La risposta in frequenza da 20 Hz a 20 kHz e il basso rumore proprio di 23 dB-A permettono di cogliere la delicatezza dei pianissimi e la ricchezza armonica dei legni, mentre la direttività cardioide aiuta a isolare lo strumento dal resto del palco.
Il fissaggio avviene tramite la clip MC 5, un supporto universale a cinghia che si adatta a oboe, clarinetto, flauto, flauto dolce, fagotto e anche arpa. Il collo d'oca SH 150 permette di orientare la capsula verso il punto di emissione desiderato; il suo supporto ruota e si blocca a scatti di 45°, mentre la sospensione elastica in materiale plastico limita la trasmissione dei rumori meccanici e dei movimenti delle dita.
La dotazione è completata dal cavo AC 31 da 1,8 m con mini jack, dallo stadio di uscita MCM 100 con connettore XLR-3M e alimentazione phantom 48 V, dall'antivento in spugna WS 110, dal fermacavo KC 1 e da una custodia morbida.
