Il Neumann MCM 114 Stereo Set Piano è il kit del Miniature Clip Mic System dedicato alla ripresa stereo del pianoforte, verticale o a coda. La confezione contiene due catene microfoniche complete, così da poter microfonare lo strumento in stereo con due sistemi identici, senza dover ricorrere ad aste ingombranti accanto o dentro la cassa armonica.
Ogni catena utilizza una capsula KK 14 a condensatore electret con diagramma cardioide, assemblata a mano in Germania. Neumann sottolinea come la costruzione a strati della capsula garantisca coerenza tonale tra gli esemplari: le capsule del sistema possono lavorare insieme senza necessità di selezione in coppia. La risposta da 20 Hz a 20 kHz copre l'intera estensione del pianoforte, dal registro grave alle armoniche più alte.
La particolarità del set è la clip magnetica MC 8, pensata per fissare capsula e collo d'oca su o all'interno del pianoforte senza viti né morsetti. Abbinata al collo d'oca SH 150, che ruota e si blocca a scatti di 45°, permette di posizionare le due capsule sopra la cordiera con grande precisione, mantenendo il coperchio chiuso o semichiuso quando sul palco serve contenere i rientri.
Per ciascun canale il set include cavo AC 31 da 1,8 m, stadio di uscita MCM 100 con uscita XLR-3M e alimentazione phantom 48 V, antivento WS 110 e fermacavo KC 1, il tutto in custodia morbida.
