La PT64 è la scheda di espansione che collega direttamente i convertitori di rete Merging Horus e Hapi a un sistema Avid Pro Tools HD o HDX. Grazie a due connettori DigiLink Mini il convertitore Merging viene visto da Pro Tools come un'interfaccia nativa, mettendo a disposizione della DAW i preamplificatori, i convertitori AD/DA e l'intero ecosistema di rete RAVENNA/AES67 di Merging.
La capacità della scheda dipende dalla frequenza di campionamento: 64 canali in ingresso e uscita a 48 kHz, 32 canali a 96 kHz e 16 canali a 192 kHz, con risoluzione a 24 bit su tutto l'intervallo da 44,1 a 192 kHz. Installando due schede si possono raggiungere 128 canali complessivi, sfruttando sistemi HDX con più schede.
Un aspetto molto apprezzato è la compensazione automatica del ritardo, che emula il comportamento delle interfacce Avid così da mantenere la corretta compensazione della latenza all'interno della sessione Pro Tools. Il collegamento a bassa latenza consente di lavorare in registrazione e monitoraggio senza compromessi.
La PT64 permette quindi a uno studio basato su Pro Tools di accedere al mondo dell'audio su IP: i segnali possono essere scambiati con altri dispositivi RAVENNA/AES67 in rete, distribuiti fra più sale o integrati in infrastrutture broadcast, mantenendo Pro Tools come piattaforma di produzione principale.
