The NOVATION 49SL MKIII is a 49-key MIDI keyboard that represents the culmination of Novation's research in technology and design, setting a new standard for keyboard controllers. The NOVATION 49SL MKIII extends the workflow of the previous MkII line which, despite being nearly 10 years old, is still the brand's authentic flagship and one of the best controllers globally. Now, the NOVATION 49SL MKIII even integrates an eight-track polyphonic sequencer and offers the ability to synchronize virtually any type of instrument, whether analog or digital, hardware or virtual. The NOVATION 49SL MKIII was designed as the new main controller for managing a musician's or producer's entire studio and live setup.
The new MkIII line features a completely new design for controlling the entire studio, both via MIDI and CV/Gate, and for working perfectly with any HUI-compatible DAW. Available in 49 and 61-key versions, the SL MkIII integrates a high-quality semi-weighted keyboard, specially designed to meet the needs of the most experienced keyboardist. The NOVATION 49SL MKIII has an exceptionally high scan rate of 10kHz (10,000 times per second), which gives the keyboard a wide dynamic range for unlimited expressive performance. Both hardware and software devices can be mapped in a completely personalized way, to have maximum control over your setup. Novation, as always, has also worked closely with Ableton to create a perfect master keyboard for Live software.
The 16 RGB pads with polyphonic aftertouch have multiple functions: they can be used for launching clips, as steps in the sequencer, and for finger drumming. The Pitch and Modulation wheels have RGB LEDs that change color to show which track you are working on, with brightness indicating the modulation value. A lot of time was dedicated during the design phase to programming the Velocity curves, and it's possible to choose from a wide range of options to find the one best suited to your playing style. You can create your own templates in the software editor and then save them to the keyboard. The Components software allows you to back up and restore patterns and sessions to the cloud, allowing access from any location, and all content can also be saved locally.
