PASSIVE VOLUME CONTROL
The Monicon was built with completely passive circuitry, so that the signal is not altered. Its main use is to connect your active studio monitors to a computer or audio interface. The advantage of using a device like this, rather than connecting the monitors directly to the sound card, is being able to choose between two different sets of monitors as output, and between a balanced input and an auxiliary input (a smartphone for example).
To mix and check that you haven't introduced phase cancellations in your mix, there is also an XLR mono sum output to a single mono monitor.
