TC4000 SMPTE Timecode Reader / Writer is the updated version of the TC2000. TC4000 allows connection to the BEYOND software, allowing the hardware to be seen as a midi device. This provides maximum flexibility when it comes to using SMPTE timecode. In what is called "reading mode," the TC4000 decodes incoming LTC timecode and transmits it to BEYOND. The laser show will then be locked to the incoming timecode, so if the timecode stops, the laser show stops. Similarly, when the timecode starts, the laser show will start. Additionally, the TC4000 has the ability to read and write to many different frame rates such as 24, 25, and 30, via linear timecode.
SPECIFICATIONS
Some installations require coordination with music and control signals. This is most often done using SMPTE timecode. In reading mode, the TC4000 decodes incoming LTC timecode and passes it to BEYOND software. Playback of your laser show is then locked to the incoming SMPTE timecode. If timecode stops, the laser show stops (alternatively, you can set the show to continue "freewheeling"). Once timecode starts again, the laser show and starts again.
