T2 W, Pro-Ject's first Wi-Fi turntable
Innovative and interesting, it brings a breath of fresh air to the turntable sector. This is what the panel of European journalists writes every year when they compile the winners of the various EISA awards, and which is proposed in its original version. Pro-Ject T2 W The T2 W represents a bold attempt to combine analog vinyl playback with digital convenience, an endeavor that Pro-Ject accomplishes with momentum. The heart of the T2 W is a turntable with belt drive, equipped with a 9-inch aluminum tonearm and Sumiko MM cartridge, also featuring electronic speed control; what takes it to another level is the presence of a wireless module, which allows you to stream your music content to speakers and all other devices connected to the network. The "Pro-Ject Control" app simplifies its installation and control; among the key features we find lossless FLAC output at 48kHz/24bit and automatic streaming when the stylus is lowered onto the groove. Playing records, making the vinyl format a "modern" system, has never been easier. The T2 W enters the category of Pro-Ject Series T turntables, taking the highest step. In the same category, the T1 model is already present in its variants. Among the numerous improvements introduced in the T2 W, some deserve to be mentioned right away: starting with the straight 9" aluminum tonearm with integrated shell, the thicker 10mm glass platter, a new cartridge, and for the first time a collaboration opens with Sumiko, a historic US brand, mounting the Sumiko Rainer MM cartridge. The main innovation, however, is the wireless transmission that does not use Bluetooth, like the previous T1 BT, but the Wi-Fi protocol. The streaming technology allows simultaneous transmission of signals with resolution up to 24 bit/48 kHz in lossless FLAC format to various UPnP/DLNA devices. There is also "lossy" transmission to ensure compatibility with a greater number of devices. Streaming management is handled through the new Pro-Ject Control App. Worth noting is compatibility with existing wireless platforms and for Apple and Bluesound systems a second transmission mode is available.
