Innovative and interesting, it brings a breath of fresh air to the turntable sector. Pro-Ject T2 W The T2 W represents a bold attempt to combine analog vinyl playback with digital convenience, an attempt that Pro-Ject completes with enthusiasm. The heart of the T2 W is a belt-driven turntable, equipped with a 9-inch aluminum tonearm and a Sumiko MM phono cartridge, also featuring electronic speed control; what takes it to another level is the presence of a wireless module, which allows streaming of your music content to speakers and all other network-connected devices. The “Pro-Ject Control” app simplifies its installation and control; among the salient features are the 48kHz/24bit lossless FLAC output and automatic streaming when the stylus is lowered onto the groove. Playing records, making the vinyl format a “modern” system, has never been so simple. The T2 W enters the Pro-Ject T Series turntables, taking the top spot. The T1 model in its variants is already present in the same category. Among the numerous improvements introduced in the T2 W, some deserve to be mentioned immediately: let's start with the 9” straight aluminum tonearm with integrated headshell, the thicker 10mm glass platter, a new cartridge, and for the first time, a collaboration with Sumiko, a historic US brand, mounting the Sumiko Rainer MM cartridge. The main innovation, however, is the wireless transmission that does not use Bluetooth, like the previous T1 BT, but the Wi-Fi protocol. The streaming technology allows simultaneous sending of signals with resolution up to 24 bit/48 kHz in lossless FLAC format to various UPnP/DLNA devices. However, "lossy" transmission is also available to ensure compatibility with a greater number of devices. Streaming is managed through the new Pro-Ject Control App. It is worth noting the compatibility with existing wireless platforms, and a second transmission mode is available for Apple and Bluesound systems.
