The Quik Lok ITTOP line is designed to offer an uncompromising cable for all types offered in the catalog, both for musicians and in professional audio applications, using not only original NEUTRIK but also high-end Made in ITALY connectors.
SpeakON is a type of electrical connector produced by NEUTRIK, and used in professional audio systems to connect amplifiers and loudspeakers. It is preferred over banana connectors (and others) because it guarantees a perfect grip, thanks to the rotating insertion with snap lock and therefore a stable electrical contact between the two parts, and good protection from accidental short circuits in both the male and female, in addition to being generally more consistent and robust. Cables are terminated in the SpeakON connector with soldering or screw terminals, depending on the model. There are different types of SpeakON, from a minimum of 1 pair of contacts (2 poles) up to a maximum of 4 pairs (8 poles) for carrying power signals, allowing a single cable of adequate size to wire an entire multi-way speaker system, for example in 4-way multi-channel systems with sub, bass, mid, treble or, more rarely, with different impedance/power depending on the type of connection of the various speakers in the system (parallel, series or mixed). Compared to the jack connector, the SpeakON does not create short circuits between the contacts during insertion or removal, which, in the presence of a signal, can damage the amplifier.
