The Radial DAN-RX is a 2-channel 24-bit/96kHz digital-to-analog terminal that allows the user to send audio from a Dante™ network for connection to professional audio systems. Developed by Audinate®, the Dante protocol has become the standard for digital audio distribution in professional audio. Using standard Ethernet networks, all connected Dante devices can communicate and manage audio between each other with very low latency. The DAN-RX provides a simple way to take a stereo signal from the Dante network and convert it to analog audio for monitoring at any location without the need for additional equipment.
The DAN-RX has XLR outputs for connecting to balanced professional audio equipment such as microphone inputs on a mixing console or directly to an amplifier or active loudspeaker. In live audio applications, the DAN-RX can be used to return audio to the stage or to route audio to smaller PA systems or recorders located in remote rooms within a venue. There is also a 3.5mm headphone output with level control for checking audio before connecting to the PA system or for local monitoring with headphones, useful in events where many people need to listen with personal monitoring systems.
The DAN-RX has 24-bit/96kHz analog converters for excellent audio quality. Connecting to the Dante network is simple - simply plug the Ethernet jack into any networked audio system using a standard Cat5e or Cat6 cable. The DAN-RX will accept Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), but an adapter is also included for use when PoE is not available. Once connected, the DAN-RX will appear as a 2-channel output device in Dante controller software and on other Dante-enabled devices. The DAN-RX is the simplest way to convert a stereo signal from Dante to analog.
