The RADIAL ENGINEERING STAGEBUG SB-1 is a high-performance active DI box for acoustic guitar, designed for musicians on the go. Designed to fit inside a guitar case, the RADIAL ENGINEERING STAGEBUG SB-1 is the smallest DI box Radial has ever made.
The device consists of an instrument input with a standard ¼” jack and a thru-put output to power the tuner or amplifier on stage. The ultra-quiet active circuit immediately converts the signal from high to low impedance, reducing susceptibility to noise. The signal is then buffered and balanced for long cable runs to the PA system. 48-volt phantom power provides the necessary power for operation: the RADIAL ENGINEERING STAGEBUG SB-1 requires no batteries or external power.
The active circuit features an 800k ohm input impedance, carefully selected to eliminate loading issues, while providing the sound system with a clear and crisp sound. This provides greater top-end brilliance when interfaced with vintage guitars that have low-output pickups, and is particularly useful for recording or Reamping. The RADIAL ENGINEERING STAGEBUG SB-1 is also equipped with a -15dB pad that reduces input sensitivity, properly handling even the most powerful active instruments: for this reason, it is perfectly suited for electric basses and keyboards. To reduce feedback, the 180° polarity switch can be activated to help eliminate hot-spots on stage that could cause low-frequency resonance.
