The Radial Exo-Pod is a passive broadcast splitter that can take a balanced line-level output from a mixing console and distribute the signal to up to 14 portable recorders, video cameras or wireless receivers. It can also be used in conjunction with the Radial mPress master box creating a modular solution for hundreds of individual users.
The compact floor box features a 14-gauge steel construction to withstand the rigors of touring. The steel enclosure also provides excellent protection against magnetic fields produced by light dimmers, power transformers and electrical cables. A protective bumper preserves the connectors and trim switch, and a robust steel handle allows the Exo-Pod to be carried with ease. Connectivity to and from the Exo-Pod begins with a balanced XLR input, ten balanced XLR outputs and four 3.5mm TRS mini connectors for video cameras, portable recorders, tablets or other media systems. An input trim allows the broadcast engineer to reduce the output level locally. All outputs are transformer-isolated to eliminate hum and buzz often caused by ground loops. The XLR outputs are supplemented with individual ground lift switches for further noise reduction.
The Exo-Pod is completely passive, requiring no power whatsoever. Simply connect your line-level source to power up to 14 mic inputs at once with great audio performance, excellent signal-to-noise ratio and plenty of headroom.
