The J48 Active Direct Box is optimized for use with 48V phantom-powered equipment. An active direct box optimized to work with the limited current offered by 48-volt phantom power. A digitally controlled DC-DC converter boosts the supply voltage of the electronics from the typical 3 volts to approximately 10 volts, providing unprecedented dynamic range that allows the J48 to be used with acoustic guitars and basses with high-output active pickups without saturation. It's simple: less distortion produces better sound.
