Radial Shotgun
Estimated delivery in Italy between 18 and 22 June
The Shotgun is a guitar signal distribution device for amplifiers, capable of supporting up to four amplifiers simultaneously without introducing hum and noise generally caused by ground loops.
Ryan Juchnowski, a specialist in Radial's Tech Department, explains: "Radial has always been known as a company founded on finding solutions to audio problems. A few months ago, we had the opportunity to meet the stage technicians who manage the guitars and equipment of Colin James and Joe Bonamassa. Colin's setup is wired in mono, while Joe's is stereo... both were using smaller amplifiers on stage, which inevitably generated tremendous noise due to ground loops. Both had serious problems maintaining the integrity of the guitar signal with the concert settings. We thought it would be great to provide a single solution that could handle their needs. The result of this effort is Shotgun."
Designed for Hi-Z instrument signals, the Shotgun can be configured for mono use with one input handling four outputs or in stereo with two inputs handling two pairs of outputs. Each output is individually buffered to lower impedance and reduce noise susceptibility. This also allows the signal to be managed over considerable distances when performing on larger stages. Output-1 is the default output, providing a safely grounded path for the guitar, while outputs 2, 3, and 4 are isolated to eliminate the annoying hum of ground loops almost always present when using multiple amplifiers on stage. Individual integrated Ground-Lift switches are also present. When used as a dual, i.e., a 1 x 2 splitter, Radial's innovative Constant Load Correction (CLC™) circuit intervenes to ensure the guitar's impedance, allowing the tone to remain consistent.
Compact and robust, built for "on-the-road" use, the Shotgun works with a standard 9V power supply (not included) or by connecting to a pedalboard's power brick. Top-mounted 180° polarity reversal switches ensure that all amplifiers play in phase.
