The RME DIGIFACE DANTE is a 128-channel USB 3.0 interface that allows the transmission of 64 Dante and 64 MADI channels via a single USB 3.0 connection.
The Dante Audio Over IP protocol was developed by the Australian company Audinate and allows the transmission of uncompressed audio signals with low latency over long distances.
For greater flexibility and to support the growing popularity of solutions based on this protocol in the pro-audio industry, the Digiface Dante USB 3.0 offers a new mobile solution compared to previous internal Dante PCI cards.
Power is supplied both via external PSU and via USB bus.
With the integration of the MADI drivers from the MADIface series, the RME DIGIFACE DANTE also allows the user to transfer up to 64 MADI channels via USB 3.0.
For this reason, it is possible to switch the BNC inputs for word clock to MADI I/O.
The total of these 128 channels can be controlled via DANTE software and Total Mix FX with its routing and monitoring options.
In this way, TotalMix FX allows users to create independent sub-mixes depending on the number of available outputs.
The RME DIGIFACE DANTE has two banks of redundant network ports that can be used both as Input and as Output, but also as a switch and for redundant operations with primary and secondary networks in case of increased security requirements.
In addition, the interface can also be used as a 64-channel Dante/MADI converter if the computer's USB connection is not in use.
The RME DIGIFACE DANTE also has a high-quality headphone monitoring output that can be used as a line output for transmitting analog stereo signals.
