20-Channel USB Audio Interface
The RME FIREFACE UCX II is a USB Audio interface up to 192 kHz, 20 In/Out: 8 x Analog I/O, 2 x digitally controlled Mic/Inst Preamps, 2 x Line/Inst. In, ADAT I/O, SPDIF and AES/EBU I/O, Word Clock and MIDI I/O.
The RME FIREFACE UCX II features 40 I/O channels and a wide range of possible applications; a professional compact half-rack format that is both robust and reliable.
Key features of the RME FIREFACE UCX II include 20 recording channels and 20 playback channels, SteadyClock FS technology, integrated parametric EQ, direct USB recording capability thanks to digital DURec (Direct USB Recording) technology, and standalone functionality: currently, no other half-rack audio interface offers more connectivity and features.
The RME FIREFACE UCX II integrates two mic/line preamps in XLR combo format on the front panel, along with two digitally controlled line/instrument inputs, a headphone jack, various control buttons, a display, and the main volume potentiometer. On the rear, there is a set of ten balanced line inputs and outputs, MIDI inputs and outputs, ADAT, AES/EBU and SPDIF, a USB 2.0 connection, and a switchable Word Clock I/O.
Thanks to the digital DURec (Direct USB Recording) functionality, any input or output of the RME FIREFACE UCX II can be recorded directly to a USB storage device. DURec uses integrated DSPs, allowing it to operate standalone without the need for a computer. Potential applications in this mode include field recording, live and rehearsal recordings, or playback of recordings for a virtual soundcheck.
With SteadyClock FS, the RME FIREFACE UCX II implements RME's latest clocking technology. Based on an extremely detailed clock, SteadyClock FS reduces the jitter of AD and DA conversion to new lows across all digital formats. The RME FIREFACE UCX II comes with the TotalMix FX DSP software mixer, offering extensive routing and monitoring possibilities, as well as the DIGICheck analyzer, which allows for highly accurate measurement and analysis of digital data in both directions.
