The MADIface XT II by RME is a USB 3.0 audio interface with 394 channels and 192 kHz, offering complete connectivity and control options for studio and live work. Compared to the MADIface XT, the MADIface XT II features updated digital and analog circuits and improved performance in both analog and digital domains. The MADIface XT was the world's first USB 3.0 audio interface and stood out for its high channel count, complete connectivity and compact design. With two mic/line preamplifiers (combo XLR/TRS inputs), two balanced line outputs XLR, a stereo headphone output, various digital signal options (MADI coaxial and optical, MIDI/AES, word clock) and an additional PCI Express connection, the MADIface XT delivered complete connectivity.
New analog recording specifications
The MADIface XT II maintains this winning formula and improves the signal values of the previous model. The new model offers a higher signal-to-noise ratio and lower THD in AD conversion. The maximum balanced XLR output level has been increased from +15 dBu to +24 dBu. The stereo headphone output provides a level of +19 dBu and, with an impedance of 1 Ohm, greater power. All outputs also feature various switchable levels.
New digital circuits
The new digital board replaces the analog mini-DIN jack for remote control with an ARC USB port, which enables full control of the MADIface XT II with the optional ARC USB. The MADIface XT II also includes Room EQ equalization, with nine parametric bands for surround configurations up to 20 mono channels.
Femtosecond clock
With the latest SteadyClock FS, the MADIface XT II features RME's most advanced synchronization and jitter reduction technology. Based on a femtosecond clock, SteadyClock FS reduces inherent jitter to a minimum and filters clock jitter starting from 1 Hz.
New hardware
The new MADIface XT II focuses on USB 3.0, as PCIExpress is no longer usable externally. Class Compliant mode has been improved, allowing simultaneous transmission of all 394 channels without drivers. Various formats and settings are available to optimize Class Compliant mode usage.
