8-Channel Preamplifier
The RME OCTAMIC XTC is an 8-channel preamplifier for microphones, line signals, and instruments with AD conversion up to 192KHz/24bit and an AutoSet function.
The RME OCTAMIC XTC features a 4-channel DA converter for analog or digital monitoring, fully remote controllable via MIDI over USB, DIN port, and MADI.
The ADAT, AES, and optical MADI ports function as both outputs and inputs, configurable and easily routable from the front panel with its TFT display.
All of this makes the RME OCTAMIC XTC a complete and reliable digital signal converter.
All settings are saved and recalled from internal presets within the unit.
OctaMic XTC integrates eight MIC/LINE inputs, 4 switchable to Hi-Z, with a variety of digital formats never before seen in a device of this category: from the most common ADAT and AES/EBU formats to the sophisticated 64-channel optical MADI. Analog signals are converted using RME's latest conversion technology.
While maintaining the excellent sound and frequency response that have made the RME brand world-renowned, this preamp achieves imperceptible latency times and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.
Thanks to the practical color TFT display, easily accessible configuration options reveal another unique feature: all analog and digital inputs, including up to 64 MADI channels and 8 AES/EBU audio channels, can be freely assigned to any output - including the 24 channels of the USB 2.0 Class Compliant audio interface format.
When connected via MIDI (DIN, MIDI over MADI, or USB) to an RME audio interface running TotalMix FX, the RME OCTAMIC XTC can be remotely controlled directly via TotalMix.
The perfect combination is the Fireface UFX paired with XTC.
The new RME OCTAMIC XTC, connected via ADAT to the UFX, can add 8 analog inputs and 4 analog outputs to RME's top-of-the-line interface. With 24 I/O channels in Class Compliant mode, the RME OCTAMIC XTC is currently also the most flexible and advanced interface capable of working with an iPad (with the Apple Camera Connection Kit).
