The ROLAND VR-1HD is an audio/video streaming mixer that allows you to broadcast dynamic multi-camera live streams, complete with incredible visuals and sound that easily surpass "standard" live streams from a mobile phone or static webcam.
The ROLAND VR-1HD has three "worry-free" HDMI inputs, each accepting a variety of HD and computer-based video resolutions. This allows you to connect, switch, and stream different sources including cameras, presentations, gameplay, and even smartphones and tablets seamlessly. Audio from these sources can be mixed with the two studio-quality XLR microphone inputs and the dedicated line input. Since the ROLAND VR-1HD is designed for live broadcasting, its dedicated controls and top-mounted microphone input (with gooseneck microphone) allow you to keep your hands free and use headphones while live streaming.
The ROLAND VR-1HD features built-in Scene Switching for instantly transitioning between scenes containing preset arrangements of layered sources, displayed within customizable internal windows, and Chroma key which allows
the use of a green screen to place a subject in front of a background that is not actually present.
The ROLAND VR-1HD allows you to switch cameras with three automatic switching modes that eliminate effort once you start broadcasting:
- Video Follows Audio: The ROLAND VR-1HD switches cameras based on who is speaking into the microphone. If both people speak at the same time, or if no one is speaking, the ROLAND VR-1HD can switch to a wide shot showing both presenters.
- Beat Sync Switching: The ROLAND VR-1HD switches between different camera inputs based on the playback tempo or DJ performance music, allowing it to act as a VJ.
- Auto Scan: For extended unattended live streams, the ROLAND VR-1HD cycles through sources in a predefined order or randomly, at your chosen time frequency.
Thanks to the automatic mixing function, the ROLAND VR-1HD ensures that different audio inputs don't compete, also ensuring the sound remains balanced. You can also set certain inputs to have priority so that when the host starts speaking, other audio levels are automatically reduced. Furthermore, the audio from input sources can automatically change when you switch video sources, by activating the Audio Follows Video function.
