Thanks to an abundant power supply and versatile connections, the RND R6 offers the solidity of a professional product built to the high standards expected from a reputable company like Rupert Neve Designs. From a power supply perspective, the R6 provides 150% more current than needed for a 6-module chassis to always ensure sufficient current, even in the event of higher than expected consumption. To keep power consumption under control and easily identify any issues with specific modules, the R6 is equipped with a series of LEDs on the front panel that show the actual current being used. The internal power supply has been carefully designed and double-shielded to prevent electromagnetic interference, even in the closest spaces. Thanks to these LEDs, you can get the best performance from your 500 series modules.
With a wide range of available connections, the rear panel is practically a standalone patchbay. The R6 features 8 balanced I/O connections in DB-25, XLR, and TRS formats, all active and therefore interchangeable. This versatility is particularly useful when taking the R6 to another studio and being unsure of the available connection types, or when there is a need to convert connections between various TRS, DB-25, XLR formats, or even to another format, using the THRU functionality on channels 7-8.
The chassis is all steel with rubber feet on 2 sides, to support the unit both horizontally and vertically, and also has a sturdy foldable handle for transport. All connectors and accessories are of the highest quality and guarantee long-lasting reliability.
Since the R6 is built to 500 series specifications, it will work perfectly with any properly designed module. For those slightly oversized modules, the R6 has movable screw holes for easier installation. Modules can be linked in stereo pairs via internal jumpers, and matching blanks are also available to cover any empty slots.
