The Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail analog delay pedal delivers warm, authentic vintage tones, rich, immersive modulation, and some extra features.
Everyone loves the warm, smooth, ambient sounds typical of analog delay pedals based on BBD (Bucket Brigade Device) technology; the Vapor Trail offers precisely those classic tones, but adds a TRS insert jack that allows you to process repeats through external effects, unleashing your creativity and redefining the possibilities offered by analog delay. The natural compression and high-frequency attenuation typical of this delay support the "dry" (direct) signal without overpowering it (unless you crank the controls to create "laser gun" or spaceship-style sound effects). The Delay knob adjusts the delay time from 15ms to 600ms, the Repeats knob controls the amount of feedback (or repetitions) of the signal, while the Mix knob manages the balance between dry and wet signals; at maximum, the delay sound is actually 3dB louder than the dry signal. The Vapor Trail also features modulation controls to add shimmer and movement to the echo: the Rate knob adjusts the modulation oscillation speed (from a slow, lush chorus effect to a fast "rotary" style spin), while the Depth knob controls its intensity. On the side of the pedal there is a dedicated TRS jack that allows you to send only the wet signal to another pedal or effect (such as distortion, flanger, chorus, envelope filter, or reverb), to connect a volume pedal to vary the level of the delayed signal, or to use it as a wet output to send only the repeats to an amplifier or a separate signal chain. Just like their pickups, this pedal is designed and assembled in their Santa Barbara, California facility.
Note: this is the latest version with three white knobs, instead of the transparent delay time knob visible in the front photos (the correct version is shown in the top jacks photo).
