Featuring a cardioid polar pattern, the Shure KSM137 is simply the standard microphone for studio recording. Versatile, robust, and precise, the KSM137 is an incredible instrument microphone: from percussion to woodwinds, from strings to brass, from pianos to guitars. Like other models in the KSM line, the Shure KSM137 has low self-noise (14dB) and an extended frequency response (20 Hz - 20 kHz). It features a three-position switch for inserting 0dB, 15 dB, and 25dB attenuation, for recording sound sources with extremely high SPLs. A three-position switchable low-frequency filter allows for controlling background noise and proximity effect. The Class A, transformerless preamplifier of the Shure KSM137 eliminates crossover distortion and odd-order harmonic distortion to provide incredible linearity across the entire frequency range. The microphone comes with a carrying case, a robust stand, and a Popper StopperTM windscreen.
