Coincident Pair Stereo Condenser Microphone
The SHURE VP88 is a condenser microphone with a coincident pair stereo configuration suitable for stage recording, reporting, or studio use. It incorporates two capsules: one (Mid) capsule with a cardioid polar pattern is forward-facing to capture on-axis sounds, while the other (Side) capsule has a bi-directional polar pattern, capturing sounds from both sides.
The SHURE VP88 has an internal M-S matrix, offering a choice of three stereophonic image separation settings. This can be optionally bypassed if an external M-S matrix is used in post-production. It operates on phantom power or an internal 6V battery. It's an excellent choice for recording grand pianos, as drum overheads, or for any ambient recording. Frequency response: 40 Hz to 20 kHz. Low-frequency attenuation selector (-12 dB/octave below 80 Hz). It comes with a WA371 stand clamp, a Y-cable from XLR5 female to two male XLRs, and a carrying case.
