500 Series 4-Band Equalizer, "Brown" or "Black" Series Switch
The E Series EQ module reproduces the legendary sound of an 80s classic, the SSL 4000 E console channel strip, which we've all enjoyed on countless hit records. It contains two different EQs that were found on console versions produced between 1979 and 1987. Each EQ has unique response curves and tonal characteristics. They are distinguished by the colors used on the LF (low frequency) potentiometer, and thus the two tones became known as the "Brown" and "Black" EQs. Both of these tonal "flavors" are selectable on the E Series EQ module. The E Series EQ module therefore also provides you with the "Brown" EQ from the now-discontinued SSL E-Signature Channel Strip.
