True analog sound inspired by the SSL 4000-Series (4K) console
Solid State Logic SSL 12 is the perfect audio interface for producers and engineers who demand uncompromised performance and versatility from a desktop device. SSL 12 is capable of being both the centerpiece of a studio and a portable production hub to take with you on the road. Four SSL-designed microphone preamplifiers delivering uncompromised low-noise, high-gain performance, Legacy 4K function to add the characteristic SSL color of the legendary 4000s, industry-leading dynamic range thanks to superior-quality converters, complete monitoring section, ADAT expandability, talkback microphone, flexible headphone outputs and an intuitive console-style software mixer. SSL 12 has just set a new benchmark for what you can expect from a unit powered entirely via USB. SSL 12 is equipped with an extraordinary amount of professional studio features, normally reserved for high-end rackmount interfaces. For tracking, ADAT connectivity, together with the integrated talkback microphone and an incredibly powerful cue mixer (which allows you to create up to 4 independent near-zero latency mixes for performers) is able to handle the most demanding recording sessions. For mixing, alternate monitor switching and assignable control room functions on the front panel put everything you need at your fingertips. For production, USB Loopback, MIDI I/O and DC-coupled outputs for CV control of synths and FX equip you with a range of tools to keep creativity alive. To top it off, the ever-expanding SSL Production Pack (with a wide selection of essential virtual instruments, plug-ins, samples and DAW) helps bring your productions to life. For over 50 years, SSL has designed mixing consoles and cutting-edge hardware processors, used by the world's most famous artists and recording studios. Throughout this time, their reputation as a leading worldwide manufacturer of professional audio equipment has focused on the constant pursuit of audio excellence and technical innovation, achieved through the simplification of production workflows and advanced studio ergonomics. SSL 12 takes the "traditional" desktop audio interface where it has never been before, with an incredible range of features in a compact footprint and exceptional audio quality. Featuring premium Alps potentiometers, Neutrik connectors and an attractive brushed aluminum front panel, SSL 12 is built to last, whether you use it in the studio or in location recording. SSL boasts a long history of innovation in analog electronics and console design. Whether it's the sound of the classic '242' and '292' EQ circuits, the power of the legendary SSL Bus Compressor or the incredible bandwidth and sonic accuracy of the innovative microphone amplifiers and SuperAnalogue consoles, SSL continues to advance with analog. Legacy 4K is an entirely analog effect, inspired by the character of an SSL 4000 series console (often referred to as "4K"). The first thing the Legacy 4K circuit does is introduce a decisive, musical-sounding high-frequency boost, which helps add some emotion to vocals or instruments. Secondly, it will add subtle analog distortion with finely-tuned harmonic content, helping to enrich any sound with greater personality.
