Sony Ceiling Microphone
FEATURES
Introducing Sony’s ceiling beamforming microphone with advanced speech reinforcement technology for truly hands-free and contact-free lectures and presentations.
Hands-free, contact-free ceiling beamforming microphone with speech reinforcement capabilities
The MAS-A100 is an innovative recording and speech reinforcement solution*. Lavalier microphones are time-consuming to attach and position, and handheld microphones restrict movement. The beamforming microphone, on the other hand, is ceiling-mounted and therefore ready for use, allowing the speaker to focus hands-free on the presentation without worrying about their movements. What's more, operation is completely contact-free, reducing the risk of infection for users. *A speaker system is required for speech reinforcement.
Dedicated channels for speech reinforcement and recording
Our complete solution uses audio volume stabilization and clear audio processing to produce crisp recordings. The MAS-A100 features two output channels. The main channel provides speech reinforcement in a classroom setting, while the dedicated recording channel records a wider range with optimal intelligibility, ideal features for lecture recording and distance learning.* The dual output channel offers authentic hybrid learning by providing speech reinforcement for students in the classroom alongside recording for those using distance learning, for a true hybrid learning solution. *A lecture capture system is required. **Preliminary testing is recommended for distance learning applications.
Simple installation and management
With Dante and PoE support, the MAS-A100 connects to third-party systems via a single cable connection. Auto calibration simplifies system setup, and settings can be easily adjusted over the network using the free MASM-1 management software. Permanent ceiling installation ensures hands-free and contact-free operation. What's more, thanks to simple settings and centralized management, the MAS-A100 is an affordable audio solution for classrooms that doesn't require battery monitoring.
Beamforming technology and Intelligent Feedback Reducer function
The integration of beamforming technology and the market-leading Intelligent Feedback Reducer function offers the speaker clear audio with hands-free speech reinforcement. Sony's high-performance digital signal processing and exclusive algorithms extract speech sounds and eliminate unwanted feedback (prolonged whistling).
Noise reduction
The ceiling microphone features advanced noise reduction technologies to minimize background noise. Fixed background noise from projectors and air conditioning is automatically detected and reduced to deliver clear sound, improved intelligibility, and therefore better understanding for listeners. What's more, the ambient noise filter function* automatically detects and filters out intermittent and potentially distracting sounds, such as keyboard typing, mouse clicking, or rustling pages. (Version 1.1)*The ambient noise filter function is scheduled for availability in March 2021.
Automatic gain control
The MAS-A100 features a useful built-in volume normalization function that maintains stable volume regardless of the distance between the microphone and the speaker, allowing the latter to move freely in the classroom without causing a deterioration in audio quality. Automatic gain control adjusts the received signal strength to ensure clear, consistent sound and easy listening.
Automatic calibration
The beamforming microphone optimizes audio processing parameters for automatic speech reinforcement. The microphone generates a test signal, which is captured by the speakers. The system then calculates and configures the parameters for speech reinforcement. This calibration is only required at the time of installation, minimizing lengthy system setup and maintenance procedures.
