The Soundcraft EPM 6 is a multi-purpose mixer at an extremely affordable price, aimed at small live music venues, recording studios, places of worship, and commercial installations. Soundcraft has paid particular attention to the quality of its components for the best audio performance and an extremely intuitive approach to use. The internal technology is surface-mount with high-precision components, so that EQ and gain settings can be made with extreme accuracy.
The GB30 mic preamps (designed by Graham Blyth for the company's 30th anniversary, and already implemented in the LX7II and GB series consoles) offer high-resolution adjustments over a 55dB dynamic range, providing a generous +22dB of available headroom.
A unique feature of the console is the PEAK LED for signal monitoring; this control tracks any overloads measured at different points in the channel chain, illuminating more brightly as the signal approaches the peak value. The monitor and headphone outputs work in parallel, allowing simultaneous listening for the artist (on headphones) and the engineer (through studio monitors).
