Monitor Controller and Audio Interface
A monitor controller that also allows for recording, featuring a 32-bit AD/DA converter and impressive sound quality.
Speakers and Subwoofer
Production can be heard through two switchable pairs of speakers. A subwoofer is switched on and off together with speaker pair A. In the center position of the switch, the speakers are muted, so there is no need to turn the volume control back down.
Volume Control
Levels are adjusted with the Monitor knob: in the center, all input signals are equally loud; turning left makes the analog stereo inputs louder and the USB signal quieter; turning right does the opposite, allowing for quick and intuitive level balancing.
Line and USB Inputs
Two analog stereo inputs and one digital USB input can be connected to the Marc One. The DAW is preferably connected via USB; CD players, mixers, microphone preamps, synthesizers, or analog recorders connect to the line inputs.
32-bit AD/DA Converter
The chipset is from AKM's Premium Velvet Sound® series: the AK5552 as an analog-to-digital converter and the AK4490 as a digital-to-analog converter, both with 32-bit processing. Sample rates up to 768 kHz PCM and DSD playback (via DoP) up to DSD4/DSD256 (11.2 MHz) are supported. The USB connection is class-compliant: Mac and iOS devices do not require drivers (with camera adapter for iOS); on Windows, a driver is only required for higher sample rates.
Headphone Amplifier
The Marc One delivers rich headphone sound and can get very loud. The output stage is a class AB push-pull amplifier with thermally coupled bipolar transistors for a consistent and stable sound image. The power supply features a low-source-resistance buffer circuit for generous current reserves even with low-impedance headphones.
